YOUTH MINISTRY
“Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” - Ephesians 6:10
BAPTISM
From birth on, children are welcomed into the church family at Immanuel Lutheran. Their baptism is a day of rejoicing for the congregation and each child receives a gift bag which includes a quilt made by the church’s quilting group, along with a Bible story book and information for the parents.
YOUTH MINISTRY
The mission of our youth ministry is to focus on the spiritual and emotional needs of children, pre-teen and teenage youth in a comfortable setting while building Christian character and developing a strong foundation for their Lutheran Faith. Youth Ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church exists to facilitate and lead young people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Our Sunday School is a very important part of a child’s Christian education from age 3 or 4 through 8th grade. We have an active program with approximately 75 children and a staff of loving and caring teachers.
Fifth grade students receive Holy Communion after attending several weeks of instruction led by our Pastor. Sixth graders begin serving as acolytes. Confirmation classes are held for the seventh and eighth graders with confirmation of the eighth graders being held each year in April or early May.
Preteens and teens are all members of the Warriors of Christ Youth Group. The group is always ready to serve where needed, whether it is a Community Service Project, doing dishes for a church event, or helping with Vacation Bible School.
